A tremor measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale hit outskirts of Behbahan town in southwestern province of Khuzestan Wednesday evening.
The quake jolted town of Behbahan in Khuzestan province at 19:04 p.m hours local time (14:34 GMT) Wednesday evening.
Khuzestan Seismological Network, affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, said the quake was registered at an area located in 30.67 degrees latitude and 50.21 degrees longitude.
The quake has caused no casualties or losses.
No report has been dispatched on possible damage to property by the earthquake.
Quakes of varying magnitudes are of usual occurrence in Iran, which lies on one of the world’s most active seismic fault lines.
