Reassessment of formation types and scales of perspective areas by analogues among known deposits is one of the approved algorithms of new deposit opening. The conclusion by analogy is widely used at scientific researches and practice while there is not enough information about object under study. The essence of this process consists to that the knowledge, received from consideration of any object, is transferred to poor investigated, similar object. This approach allows to deepen our knowledge about objects under study by their comparison to well investigated objects-etalons and carry out preliminary geological-economic estimation.
Computer graphics (ÑG) diagram is one of most roughly developing directions of new modern information technologies. There are two functions of computer graphics - illustrative and cognitive. The first one is used in scientific researches, including fundamental. Now we decide to use the second one, which allow to scientist to make active ability to think by complex spatial images. Illustrative function of ÑG allows to embody knowledge in more or less adequate visual registration only that is already known, i.e. already exists or in the world environmental us, or as idea in researcher’s head. Cognitive function of ÑG helps us in certain graphic representation to receive new knowledge, i.e. yet not existing even in expert’s head or, at least, to promote intellectual process of reception of this knowledge.
Taking into account huge opportunities of cognitive properties of graphic images, the authors have started the creation of a graphic part of database for information-analytical system of express-evaluation of gold ore deposits, based on search of object-analogue. Such database, involved facts and graphics, is designed as a component of system ANALOG, developed by authors in 2002-2006. The primary goal of system is following: using a complex of attributes available on object under study to find the object–analogue, most similar to it from set of standards (well investigated gold ore deposits), available at database. The evaluation of object under study (ore formation type and scale) will be carried out by method of analogies.
Initially the system ANALOG have used only fact database. In this way the calculation method of measure of object similarity (between standard from database and object under study) depends on a kind of information which may be both qualitative and quantitative character.
The graphic information allows to visualize that part of human knowledge of object for which there is no opportunity to receive text and numeric descriptions. For the first time the integration of technology of expert systems and cognitive graphic diagrams is carried out in information-analytical system ANALOG (version 2007). During decision making the inclusion of graphic images in system allows to use not only logic thinking of the researcher, but also the figurative thinking by analyzing images (raster images).
