C-587, nom. nov. pro R. cushmani Finlay. 1939, non Valvulineria cushmani Coryell and Embich, 19371; OD.Rotamorphina Finlay. 1939 (*1128), p. 325.Test biconvex, trochospiral, chambers enlarging rapidly as added, six to seven per whorl, sutures flush and oblique on the spiral side, depressed and radial on the umbilical side, periphery rounded: wall calcareous. thin, surface smooth: aperture a low extraumbilicalumbilical arch on the umbilical side, covered by an umbilical flap from the final chamber. U. Cretaceous (Campanian); cosmopolitan.
Remarks: As Rotamorphina is recognized as a distinct genus rather than a synonym of Valvulineria. the type species is no longer a secondary junior homonym of V. cushmani Coryell and Embich and is correctly known as Rotamorphina cushmani.
