    ABSTRACT
    Four new ligands, (4-methyl-phenyll-pyridin-2-ylmethylene-anine (A), (2,3- Dimethyl-phenyl)-pyridin-2-ylmethylene-amine, (B), and (2.4-Dimethyl-pheny1)- pyridin-2-ylmethylene-amine, (C) and(2,5-Dimethyl-pheny1)-pyridin-2-ylmethyleneamine. (1)) and their corresponding copper (I) complexes, [Cu(A)2]Cl04 (la). [CLI(B)~]C~(Olb')~, [Cu(C)2]C104, (lc), [CU(D)~]CIO(I~d ), [Cu(A)(PPh3)z]CIO,r (2a), [Cu(B)(PPh3)2]C104 (2b), [Cu(C)(PPh3)2]C104 (2c), and [Cu(D)(PPh3)z]ClO,r (2d), have been synthesized. The crystal structures of [CU(B)~]CIO(~lb ). [CU(C)~]CIO(l~c ) and [Cu(A)(PPh3)2]C104.1/2CH3C(N2 a) were determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction. The coordination polyhedron about copper(1) center in the three co~nplexesis best described as a distorted tetrahedron.
